George Richter was one of the last of three generations of original berry farmers in the Puyallup Valley and over the years had developed some unique varieties of berries. While much of the original land has been developed into housing projects and warehouses, these special berry plants were moved to other farming sites and the crops continue to be cultivated by Jake Sterino of Sterino Farms. Jake has carried on the philosophy that good berries are best when fresh. Picked fresh daily, these special berries are then air freighted overnight to locations throughout the United States. These special varieties are some of the featured products available to the general public when in season at the Sterino Farms Produce Market in Puyallup Washington.
